Hi. My name is Liz. I'm a Fort Lauderdale native and the owner of Sparkling
Impressions.
Before starting my house
cleaning company, I worked in business for many years. During
that time, I got used to hearing my friend's and colleague's constant complaining about the awful experiences
they had with the cleaning services they were using.
The complaints were always the same: Crews showing up late or
not at all, A different crew or cleaning person each time,
poor communication,
poor results, missed tasks. In
general there were a lot of very unsatisfied customers around.
And the list went on and on
When I'd ask them why they didn't just switch services, they would tell me that
they were already on their third or fourth service and they had these problems regardless of who they hired. Here
were busy people, willing to spend their hard earned money to have someone clean their house, and they couldn't get
satisfactory results.
So that's when I started thinking...
I knew enough about business to recognize an unserved market when I saw one. I
knew enough about Customer Service to recognize an opportunity too! I thought, "If just one of these
Ft Lauderdale house cleaning companies simply started focusing on Customer satisfaction, they could really "clean up".
OK, Sorry for the bad pun, but you get the idea. All it would take is some quality assurance and an interest in the
Customer, and they could own the market.
Then my eyes were really opened!
You know, its funny how things work out sometimes. When the economy went south in
2008, I got downsized from my office job like a lot of other people. I was willing to take any job I could find .
As it turns out, I went to work for a couple of cleaning services. As I cleaned houses for their clients, my
earlier theory was confirmed. The clients were thrilled with my work. More and more they began to ask for me by
name.
These Customers (my "regulars") let me know that they weren't happy with the cleaning
service they received before they found me. Soon I decided to start my own service where I could provide
first rate cleaning services to all my Fort Lauderdale customers every time
they called on me. My business began to grow through word of mouth referrals and repeat
engagements.
